Adult ADHD Assessment

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common neurodevelopmental condition.  People with ADHD can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating and may act on impulse. Some people with ADHD mainly have symptoms of inattention. Others mostly have symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity. Some people experience both.

Sometimes ADHD was not recognised when someone was a child, and they are diagnosed later as an adult.

ADHD in adults can manifest in various aspects of life, from career challenges to personal relationships. By seeking a professional assessment, you're taking a crucial step towards understanding yourself, unlocking potential strategies for managing symptoms, and enhancing overall quality of life.

An adult ADHD assessment involves the following steps:

  • Pre- assessment screening questionnaires
  • Clinical interview with client
  • Assessment with client and someone who knows the client well using a diagnostic tool (DIVA-5)
  • Feedback session with detailed, tailored recommendations approx. 3 weeks later
  • Followed by a thorough report
Please note: If you receive an ADHD diagnosis from a psychological assessment and wish to explore the option of medication, you will need to seek a further assessment from a psychiatrist.
